So What Is Messy Church?
Without being too flippant - the answer lies in the question itself!
It is most definitely not a craft club, it is a church which helps people engage with Jesus. It is for adults and children to enjoy together. It uses hands on activities to explore the stories of the Bible. It reflects a God of creativity, and gives families an opportunity to come together. It offers a welcoming safe place in which to experience the unconditional love of God.
Messy Church is about hospitality, demonstrated in the sharing of a meal, but most of all Messy Church is fun! Not just for the young ones who come along, but for the adults they bring with them. It refuses to take itself too seriously, and the childlikeness of Messy Church is profoundly rewarding to everyone who is involved.
